Just a Day
Well, we spent the long weekend at the lake with my parents and got a chance to relax a little, even though there was very little sunshine and lots of rain! Today, we're back to life as normal, me working and then going home to finish my research for grad school, Sam going to class and then working. Then I think we're going to return Chad's boat (Thanks!) and back to the house for a little downtime if we're not drop-dead tired by then! Does anyone else feel like they're way too young to be this tired??? It seems we just never stop! You get a short rest like this past weekend, and then BAM you're back in the grind full swing again!

Medical Clinic
Another Monday come and gone! After work today (a long day because of EOGs), I headed to mom and dad's to cut out my quilting pieces for my square that's due Thursday for the quilting club; nothing like waiting til the last minute, huh? Then Sam and I headed off to help at our church's free medical clinic that they do twice a month. I was just amazed at the number of people who were there and the response they gave to conversation and a little love! We met a fantastic couple, Liliana and Miguel who are going to try to come to our Sunday School class this week! Praise the Lord! I also got to serve chicken nuggets to some adorable kids and some very appreciative adults. What a great ministry to fill a huge need in the community! God calls us to take care of others, especially the sick (Matthew 25:36) and what better way to do that than through this Medical Clinic? I am definitely excited to help out again, wherever I'm needed! It's like the Lifepoint Church motto: Love God, Love Others, Serve the World! It's a big task, one that can only be done as a united body of Christ! So join up everyone and share the news that Jesus is the Messiah, the only one who can save us from our filthy sin so that we can be clean to meet God!!! How amazing is that!?!? Just blows me away!

What a Day!
Well, I spent the second day in a row doing math challenge games with our fifth graders and boy am I exhausted! These kids just wear me out sometimes! Today was also tacky day for spirit week, and I was certainly tacky!! It's amazing the outfits you can come up with if you use a little creativity!! I'm staying at school late today because my kids have a "concert" tonight. Then we're off to O-ma's for supper and a little family fellowship (it's Sarah's bday!!!) At some point I've got to work a little more on my product of learning for grad school.....what a crazy two weeks these will be with EOGs and Sam starting up classes again on Monday! I can't even imagine what our life would be like without a little insanity and busyness! I also can't imagine being this insane with anyone else! God definitely picked the right guy for me! I'm so blessed to have such a caring, patient, and loving man to live my life with! Anyway, just another crazy day in the life of the Barham's! Grace and blessings to you all today!!! We're praying for each and every one of you reading this right now! I hope you are doing the same for us! It's only through the grace and mercy of Jesus that we are as blessed as we are!

Saturday Class....blah!
So here I sit in class on a beautiful Saturday morning and I'll be here til, yep that's right, 6 o clock!!! Sam's at work today and everyone else is at the lake house! :( I'm so ready to be done with grad school! Counting down the days til July 23rd!!!! For anyone who's wondering, Sam's foot is healing well and Camp was, of course, totally chaotic and awesome. It was raining the whole time and I was freezing, but I had a blast because I got to see so many kids be successful at something that really challenged them, outside of academics! Love that! Anyway, I'll write more later, but I should probably pay attention to my professor now!

Sam's foot and other adventures
Well it's the start of another crazy week at the Barham house. We spent the weekend at my parents' lake house attempting to relax a little until Sam just about broke his foot today on the neighbor's dock. He's doing fine, or he was until I accidentally kicked him on his ganked up foot (oops!). Tomorrow I (Allison) leave for camp with my students for three days. What an exciting and chaotic time in our lives! It seems like we're going a million different directions all at once, but at least we're going together!! Dixie's at a slumber party at Aunt Susan's and Emma's chillin' on some chair somewhere since Dixie's not home to terrorize her.....hope you all have a blessed week!!

Last Day of Class!!
Today is my last day of class for the spring semester and I just can't believe it's over!!! Glad, of course, but amazed at how fast it's flown by! It seems like it hasn't been very long since I started grad school and now suddenly I'm only three months away from graduating!!! I think my students have fourth quarter-itis, a well known disease if you're a teacher...no one wants to be at school and when they are they love to act as much like rugrats as possible! Oh well, you would think that after a few years, you would get used to this end-of-the-year madness, but it seems like it sneaks up on me every time! We're pulling through day by day, but next Monday-Wednesday we'll be at Camp Hanes. The kids are so excited!! I am excited, but I also know how exhausted I already am and how much more energy that trip requires! FYI I've been listening online to the pastor of the church I went to in Wilmington and continue to be amazed at what God teaches me each day! (If you would like to listen, check out: http://www.lifepointnow.com/player.php) Just a couple mornings ago during my quiet time, the Lord really showed me how much I need to make sure that every word that comes from my lips is full of kindness and wisdom. While I will be the first to admit that this is a struggle for me, I'm definitely working hard at it! This morning I wasn't so nice to my sweet hubbie, but he's quick to forgive and I try to be quick to apologize. Sometimes stress gets the better of me and...how can I put it....my mouth runneth over! It's definitely only by God's grace that I continue to learn from mistakes and attempt to be a stronger person.

The past few days
Well, it's been a few days since I've written, but we've been so busy! Saturday we spent the day helping my parents move into their amazing new lake house. Sunday I had to do a bunch of work for grad school, and yesterday I nearly cut the tip of my finger off! Yep, that's right! Keep me away from paper cutters! You know the big industrial paper cutters that you have to pull down the handle on? Well, I pulled down the handle when my thumb was under the blade! Nearly took off the tip of my thumb! I would post a picture, but I don't want to gross anyone out! So far, today has just been a typical Tuesday. After work, I've got class and Sam has a group project to work on. I keep looking at the calendar and I can't believe that this school year is nearly through! It has just flown by! My students have been amazing and so sweet! This has been my most enjoyable year of teaching so far and I can only hope that next year is even more so!
